Merry Mitten was born from a simple realization: Christmas is too special to settle for average.

It started when I offered Christmas light installations under my cleaning brand. But it felt off. The branding didn’t match the magic I was trying to create. I love my warm weather work—but after all, scrubbing doesn’t exactly scream Christmas spirit. Customers noticed too, and they encouraged me to give it a new identity. Something true. Something joyful. Something Merry.

So I launched Merry Mitten.

The name comes from our home state of Michigan—shaped like a mitten, full of warmth even in the coldest winters. It’s more than simple branding. It’s a sign of affection to the place we live, and the season we love.

But for me, it runs even deeper.

Growing up, I remember working with my dad on massive Christmas light displays at our home. It was hard work—but those moments are some of the best memories I have. Even though my role as a boy was mostly hauling extension cords and holding the ladder, I remember the pride we felt seeing the final result, and how magical it made everything feel. Now, as a father myself, lighting up our home each year is a tradition I cherish. It makes winter bearable. It creates magic for my kids—and for me.

Merry Mitten exists to bring that same magic to others. We serve families who love Christmas, who want their homes to sparkle with beauty and joy—but don’t have the time, tools, or desire to hang lights themselves.
